Sockology

Every Monday - 6pm-8pm

Drop in and join other knitters for an evening of sock knitting. Bring your current sock project to knit and share. If you need help with a sock project, this is the perfect chance to get the help you need.                                                 There will be a $2 charge for each night ($1 go to St Judes Childrens Hospital & $1 towards a quarterly draw prize).

We hope to include a quarterly yarn tasting, as well, so please come and join us.

Open Knitting

Every Wednesday - 5pm-7:30pm

If you want to meet other knitters & crocheters why not join our weekly Wednesday group. Share projects, get help and most importantly get inspired.

Hopkins Kelp Forest

2nd & 4th Sunday of each month - 11am-1pm

Bring your yarn scraps and help us knit & crochet fun critters for our kelp forest. A fun project for all levels.

We hold regular knitting & crochet classes at the shop. If there is something specific that you are interested in that we are not covering, please let us know via our contact page.

The classes listed start at 6pm unless otherwise noted. They normally run 1 hour, but include an extra 1/2 hour knit-along time as well.

Supplies are not included unless otherwise stated.

We also run one-on-one classes throughout the week which may work better for those with busy schedules. Contact the shop to find out more about these private 1 hour classes.

Mar 5th (Tues) - Knitting for Beginners - Part 1       $15

Mar 12th (Tues) - Knitting for Beginners - Part 1     $15

If you want to learn the basics of knitting this class is perfect for you. You'll learn how to cast on, do the basic knit stitch, as well as learning to read yarn labels & the importance of gauge.  Makes a unique gift, for a friend or for yourself.

Mar 19th (Tues) - Knitting for Beginners - Part 2     $15

If you already know the basics of knitting and want to learn to purl, or just need a refresher, then this class is perfect for you. We'll go over how to do the purl stitch and how to bind off. Also see how the knit & purl stitches can be used to produce different patterns, such as stockinette, rib and basketweave. 

Mar 7th & 28th - Socks                                               $30  

Socks - Toe Up, Two at a time

Learn to knit two socks at a time, starting at the toe. in the first session we'll cover seamless cast on, increases & of course, knitting socks using one circular needle. The second session will cover turning the heel.

Do you have difficulty getting motivated to finish a project? Then join one of out Knit-a-longs and start & finish a project with a group of like minded knitters. The goal is to make this a fun project in a relaxed atmosphere.                           

We'll have different projects throughout the year. Prices include pattern & yarn kits for the project and are normally worked over a month.
